What an adventure HackSpaceCon in Cape Canaveral, Florida turned out to be! This was my first time attending, and I had the privilege of running a booth and soaking in the experience alongside Jason Haddix. The event kicked off on Friday, and right from the start, it was non-stop excitement. We gave away all our shirts and swag within the first hour, the energy was high at the conference (if only I had gotten a haircut so I didnt look like a bum).
Friday night was especially memorable, thanks to Arcanum Security sponsoring a $1,500 tab at the hotel bar. It was the perfect setting for everyone to loosen up, talk cyber, and truly nerd out in the best possible way. The atmosphere was awesome, and it felt like a great community gathering where new friendships were made and old ones strengthened. Hopefully everyone saw this tweet :).
The following day, Saturday, continued with more of the same high spirits. I had the opportunity to meet many people I knew through Twitter, Discord, and other community hubs. Among them was White Cyber Duck, one of my first friends in the cybersecurity community. It was fantastic to reconnect in person and meet so many new faces, adding a personal touch to those online interactions. The adventure took a lighter turn as Jason and I visited the Space Center. We indulged our inner children, sliding down slides and marveling at all the space exhibits. I even tried the freeze-dried ice cream, which I loved, though Jason wasn’t as much of a fan. We also witnessed a rocket launch, an experience that was new to me and was really awesome to watch and see.

Looking ahead, I'm excited to carry this momentum to upcoming events like BSIDES San Francisco and RSA, where I hope to see more people and say hi to faces I only knew as random discord names. If you caught the buzz on social media, you’ll know just why this event was so unforgettable. I’m eagerly looking forward to more such gatherings where we can all connect, learn, and grow together in the world of cybersecurity.
And you can never forget the great swag you can always pick up.
